Dhamma Java Vipassana Centre
The centre near Bogor, about one hour from Jakarta, provides an ideal environment for meditation. It has comfortable new accommodation, beautiful mountain scenery and pleasant climate.

The Meditation Hall, dining hall, teacher's residence, dormitories and other facilities were completed to allow the first course to be conducted in April 2003. The current capacity is about 60 students and the plan is to provide more private rooms and cater for 120 students.

A Meditation for Daily Life
Vipassana is a simple practical method of meditation which makes it possible to face the tension and problems of daily life in a calm and balanced way. It is a systematic way of developing insight, self-mastery and real peace of mind .

What Vipassana IS NOT :

• It is not a rite or ritual based on blind faith
• It is not an intellectual or physical entertainment
• It is not a rest, cure or holiday
• It is not an escape from the trials od everyday life

Vipassana is taught in residential ten-day courses
Students observe silence as they learn the meditation technique. Regular instructions and discourses are given throughout the course, in a non-sectarian format.

Accommodation and meals are provided. There are no charges for the course. All expenses are met by donations from previous students.
